Sundon is a civil parish located in the county of Bedfordshire. There are two settlements within the parish: Upper Sundon, located at the top of the hill, is the main village, while the presumably older settlement by the church is now a hamlet known as Lower Sundon. The village of Upper Sundon is home to Sundon Lower School, as well as a village hall and a pub called the Red Lion. The manor of Sundon, listed in the Domesday Book of 1086, was held by several families until the mid-16th century, when it passed to the Cheyne family. Later, it was sold to William Clayton, 1st Baron Sundon, and eventually passed to the Page-Turner family. The parish church, dedicated to St Mary, is a Grade I listed building that dates back largely to the 14th century, with some 13th century elements. The Victorian vicarage, featuring very fine latticed windows, is also Grade II listed. Due to changes in its boundary, the parish no longer includes Sundon Park (which is now an area of Luton) or the “Sundon Substation” of the National Grid for electricity (which is located west of the railway, near the village of Chalton).
Mortice locks, which are commonly referred to as 5-lever locks, are the primary locks on many doors )Internals & External doors) and are inserted into a pocket on the side of the door. Insurance companies often require that an appropriate mortice lock be fitted to provide coverage, with the most common standard being BS3621. You can easily check if your lock meets this standard by examining the faceplate for the BS3621 stamp, along with a date and the British Standard Kitemark.
We can recommend alternative locks that meet the BS3621 standard and our locksmiths carry these locks with them at all times, so we can replace your old locks with ease and efficiency. Our skilled professionals use specialised tools and techniques to ensure a smooth installation process, so you can enjoy the peace of mind that comes with having a secure and reliable lock without any unnecessary hassle. To replace an Insurance Approved 5 lever Deadlock, simply arrange an appointment at a time that suits your schedule with LU Locksmith services by calling this number: 0800 707 4203.
“Lock fresh installations” typically refers to the installation of new locks on doors, windows, or other access points. This may be necessary if you are moving into a new property, upgrading your security, or replacing old or damaged locks.
Fresh lock installations involve fitting new locks and associated hardware, such as handles, bolts, and strike plates, to ensure that the lock functions correctly and provides optimal security. A locksmith or other professional can help you choose the right type of lock for your needs, such as a deadbolt or multipoint lock, and ensure that it is installed correctly.
Fresh lock installations can be done on a variety of doors and windows, including front and back doors, interior doors, sliding doors, and sash windows. It is important to have new locks installed by a qualified professional to ensure that they are fitted correctly and function properly.
Overall, lock fresh installations can help enhance the security of your property and provide peace of mind, particularly if you have concerns about the effectiveness of your existing locks.
