Lewsey Farm, situated in the north-west of Luton, is a suburban area in the Luton district of Bedfordshire. The region is bounded by Leagrave High Street to the south, Pastures Way to the east, Poynters Road to the west, and the Woodside Link to the north. It is sometimes referred to as part of the wider area that includes Lewsey and Lewsey Park.
The suburb is named after the former Lewsey Farm that was located on the same site. Poynters Road, which forms the border between Luton and Dunstable, is named after the nearby Poynters Farm. The Lucy family, who owned the manor from 1305 to 1455, also owned the land on which Lewsey Farm was situated.
Lewsey Farm was constructed in the 1960s and 1970s on previously open land. Many of the houses were built as social housing in the standard style of the era, with straight roads of square terraced houses made of yellow or grey brick. The suburb remained surrounded by open land to the east and north until the construction of Lewsey Park a few decades later.
Mortice locks, which are commonly referred to as 5-lever locks, are the primary locks on many doors )Internals & External doors) and are inserted into a pocket on the side of the door. Insurance companies often require that an appropriate mortice lock be fitted to provide coverage, with the most common standard being BS3621. You can easily check if your lock meets this standard by examining the faceplate for the BS3621 stamp, along with a date and the British Standard Kitemark.
We can recommend alternative locks that meet the BS3621 standard and our locksmiths carry these locks with them at all times, so we can replace your old locks with ease and efficiency. Our skilled professionals use specialised tools and techniques to ensure a smooth installation process, so you can enjoy the peace of mind that comes with having a secure and reliable lock without any unnecessary hassle. To replace an Insurance Approved 5 lever Deadlock, simply arrange an appointment at a time that suits your schedule with LU Locksmith services by calling this number: 0800 707 4203.
uPVC (unplasticized polyvinyl chloride) doors and windows locks have several unique features that make them stand out from traditional locks made from other materials such as wood or metal:
- Durability: uPVC is a highly durable material that is resistant to weathering, corrosion, and general wear and tear. This makes uPVC locks strong and long-lasting.
- Security: uPVC locks are highly secure and can provide excellent protection against intruders. They often come with multiple locking points and can be fitted with additional security features such as anti-snap cylinders and reinforced frames.
- Energy efficiency: uPVC doors and windows are highly energy-efficient, which means that they can help to keep your home warm in winter and cool in summer. This is due to their excellent insulation properties.
- Low maintenance: uPVC locks require very little maintenance, which makes them an ideal choice for busy homeowners. They are easy to clean and do not require regular painting or varnishing.
- Aesthetics: uPVC doors and windows come in a wide range of colours and styles, which means that they can be customized to suit the aesthetic of your home. This can enhance the overall appearance of your property and add value to your home.
